I'm BAAAAACK!

So it's been a while since my last post... a LONG while. I ended up succumbing to the ease and popularity of Facebook (which I LOVE!), and have a well-stocked photo album and video collection of our little guy for our family and friends back home to enjoy. Ryan decided that since I wasn't using his beautifully crafted website as our "go-to" blog, he would take it over and use it for his own activities. Fine by me!

A quick update for those of you who haven't kept up with our lives via FB:
Over the last year and a half, I learned that I was expecting (for the fourth time... but this time was for keeps!), moved to Illinois (temporarily), survived West Nile Virus (at 32 weeks pregnant), gave birth to a beautiful little boy (Ryder Harrison), and survived my first "real" winter (rather unscathed if I do say so myself). Of course, there are lots of minute details that would really fill in the gaps, but that would take way more time and patience than I have to type.

Now, my baby boy is just weeks away from the big 0-1, and I'm just beginning to see some semblance of "me" returning to the world. I am different now, though. My tastes have changed (in more ways than one), my tolerances for certain things have changed, and even my goals are different now. Wait... that's not true. My goals haven't really changed, but I think the methods in which I will reach them have morphed a bit.

I think I'm a good mom... a good wife... a good person in general. But there is certainly room for improvement. So I'll be using this blog as a way to document my progress from where I am now to June Cleaver. I know, I know... she wasn't like that in real life. But this is MY life, and I can be like SuperJune if I wanna! :)

So keep your hands and arms inside the train at all times, folks... this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!

Moving Day for My Blog

So after showing my husband the new blog I had set up, he reminded me that he'd made a beautiful website for us when we first got married that was supposed to be like a blog. (Oops!) Anyway, I had to break it to him that the reason I didn't use it was because it wasn't easy enough... and as wonderful as he is, he agreed to revamp our original site to make it easier for his non-techie wife to use.

So please visit us at the newly redesigned www.ryanbarr.com! Although it's still under construction, the basic parts are working well, and you should be able to keep up with us whenever you drop by. :)

Life is a Journey

Approaching our 6th anniversary, we have experienced great joy, and encountered many challenges. We've learned that our plans are not God's, and that we simply have to buckle up and enjoy the ride.
Beginning this blog will accomplish many things. Most notably, it will allow me to get my thoughts out and document all the joy and challenges to come. But it will also allow our loved ones to follow what's happening in our lives, no matter where we are.
Stay tuned... it's gonna be one heck of an adventure!
